Everyone loves fairy tales about magic and romance, and if you read Goose Chase, by Patrice Kindl you will definitely be hooked on this book. This book is a magical adventure that takes Alexandria Aurora Fortunato with her twelve geese on a crazy journey. She doesn’t know it yet, but these geese will turn out to be something surprising.
Alexandria has to choose who to marry between a prince and a king. She feels, as said in the book, “If I agree to marry the prince, who is young and handsome and somewhat less intelligent than a clod of dirt… the king will simply have the prince assassinated… I’ll be walled up in a some tower or other until the day I die.” So she has a very difficult decision to make.
My favorite part in this book was when Alexandria got taken by three Ogresses and because she knows how to cook so well the Ogresses see value in not eating her, and wounds up being their slave. As she is cooking dinner one evening the Ogresses bring home something for her to cook. Who or what it is though you will have to find out. “Trying to make the man in the sack go might quite easily have been fatal for me.” This is another tough decision Alexandria has to make; cooking the man or trying to think of a way not to.
In my opinion this is a good book and I would give it a nine out of ten. This book is a great tale of magic, romance, and mischief; and great for young teenagers my age.
