Semester Project Written Activity
Science Semester Project Written Activity
This is our written activity, we decided to make a crossword puzzle to kind of quiz our classmates about their knowledge of ocean tides.
Spring Semester Project Plan
Spring 2014 Semester Project
Plan-
Written Activity- For the written activity we plan to make a crossword that will help our classmates better understand the relation between the position of the Moon and Sun and their effect on ocean tides.
Evaluation- For the evaluation we plan to explore more into our topic by giving a “10” question test over more than just what is in our journals.
Hands-on Activity- For the hands-on activity we plan to make a 3-dimensional model of Spring and Neap tides to show the position of the Moon and Sun.
Presentation- For the presentation we plan on making a slide show to teach our classmates facts about ocean tides and their effect from the Moon and Sun.
Hands-On-Activity
Richard Cory
In this poem Richard Cory is the richest man who has anything and everything you could ask for, but in the end there is a twist to Richard’s story. Richard ends up killing himself! With all this excitement going on, you notice that the poem is narrative, because it tells a story. The story of this poem developed the theme, which is what may be on the outside doesn’t always represent the inside.

Goose Chase
Everyone loves fairy tales about magic and romance, and if you read Goose Chase, by Patrice Kindl you will definitely be hooked on this book. This book is a magical adventure that takes Alexandria Aurora Fortunato with her twelve geese on a crazy journey. She doesn’t know it yet, but these geese will turn out to be something surprising.
Alexandria has to choose who to marry between a prince and a king. She feels, as said in the book, “If I agree to marry the prince, who is young and handsome and somewhat less intelligent than a clod of dirt… the king will simply have the prince assassinated… I’ll be walled up in a some tower or other until the day I die.” So she has a very difficult decision to make.
My favorite part in this book was when Alexandria got taken by three Ogresses and because she knows how to cook so well the Ogresses see value in not eating her, and wounds up being their slave. As she is cooking dinner one evening the Ogresses bring home something for her to cook. Who or what it is though you will have to find out. “Trying to make the man in the sack go might quite easily have been fatal for me.” This is another tough decision Alexandria has to make; cooking the man or trying to think of a way not to.
In my opinion this is a good book and I would give it a nine out of ten. This book is a great tale of magic, romance, and mischief; and great for young teenagers my age.
My Favorite Sense
My sense of smell is my favorite sense. I like smelling because it makes my life complete.
I don’t know what I would do if I didn’t have the sense of smell. I mean how would I know if something was burning while I was cooking and I didn’t know.
Smelling makes my life better because if I were to be at a restaurant and I ordered something off the menu I would be able to smell what I ordered. If I didn’t have this sense I would be lost. If I couldn’t smell anything how would I know if there was a fire in my house. Or how would I know what candle to buy! I am glad I have this sense because without it I wouldn’t be able to absorb what I can right now.
